Today at CES, Lenovo unveiled a slew of new Legion gaming laptops that are set to release in 2025, most of which feature the latest and greatest hardware as well as bigger vents for better cooling. In addition to offering Nvidia’s 50-series graphics cards and the latest AMD and Intel processors, they’ve also got beautiful OLED displays. Read on to learn more!

Lenovo’s Legion Pro laptops are known for their powerful hardware and high refresh-rate displays. The 2025 models (aka the Pro 5i and Pro 7i) will reflect the same quality as seen in previous iterations, but this time with updated hardware and a more efficient cooling system. Both models have (up to) Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processors and 16-inch 1600p OLED panels, but they’ve got different capacity options of RAM and storage as well as different graphics cards.
The Legion Pro 5i will have up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage, and up to GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics. The Legion Pro 7i, on the other hand, boasts a more powerful graphics card (up to a GeForce RTX 5090 GPU). It also comes with up to 64GB DDR5 of RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. Given those specifications, the Pro 7i appears to be the more powerful option of the two.
The Pro i7 also features an efficient cooling system, which Lenovo dubs the “Legion Coldfront Vapor” with “hyperchamber technology.” It’s designed to handle a maximum heat dissipation of 250 watts of thermal power. Gaming laptops require an advanced cooling system, as high-tier hardware tends to generate a lot of heat, so this sounds promising coming from Lenovo. As for the Pro 5i’s cooling system, it uses Lenovo’s Coldfront Hyper technology and is capable of dissipating the heat from 200 watts of thermal power.
The Lenovo Pro 7i will hit the streets in March 2025 with a starting price of $2,399, and the Lenovo Pro 5i will be available to purchase in May 2025 with a starting price of $1,499.

If you prefer AMD over Intel processors, you’ll be happy to see the new AMD-loaded Legion Pro 5 in Lenovo’s lineup. The top-tier configuration comes with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of PCIe SSD storage.
Lenovo also claims the laptop is 13 percent lighter and thinner than the previous iteration. That said, according to the Pro 5’s specifications sheet, it still weighs 5.58 pounds, so calling it a portable device might be something of a stretch.
The Legion Pro 5 has the same robust cooling system (aka the Coldfront Hyper) as the Pro 5i and is capable of dissipating the heat from 200 watts of thermal power. The vents are also pretty big and the oversized 3D copper heat pipes, which live inside of a chamber that sits on top of the processor, is designed to quickly draw heat away from essential components, thus resulting in better performance. Other cool features include customizable 24-zone RGB lighting, an eye-catching Eclipse Black colorway, and 80 watt-hour battery.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 is set to release in June 2025 and will come with a starting price of $1,399.
