Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag was delighted with his son Aaryavir after he played a magnificent knock of 297 runs while representing Delhi in the Cooch Behar Trophy back in November. The brilliant innings from Aaryavir saw him score 51 boundaries and 3 massive sixes.
Though Aaryavir did break many records with this innings, he also ended up missing out on a big achievement. Back in 2015, Sehwag had made a promise to gift his sons a Ferrari if they surpassed his highest Test match score of 319 runs. Aaryavir did come quite close to doing so, however just fell short by 23 runs.
Following his son’s amazing knock, Sehwag posted a heartfelt message on social media and also mentioned how only a gap of 23 runs saw Aaryavir miss out on the luxurious car.
“Well played @aaryavirsehwag. Missed a Ferrari by 23 runs. But well done, keep the fire alive and may you score many more daddy hundreds and doubles and triples. Khel jaao,” Sehwag posted on X.
In 2015, at a festive occasion held prior to the fourth Test match between India and South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, Sehwag committed to the idea of getting a Ferrari for his sons if they manage to break his Test record. This interesting conversation took place with none other than cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle.
While Aaryavir may have missed out on getting a Ferrari, his recent accomplishment showcased his remarkable potential for success.
