Donald Trump is continuing to complain about marks of respect for former President Jimmy Carter impacting his inauguration by flying flags as half-staff.
And his gripes have left Whoopi Goldberg mad.
Over the weekend, Trump and Republicans raged on television and social media that people are angry about the lowering of the flag during his inauguration. The half-staff order affects the month following Carter's death, including during Trump's Jan. 20th swearing-in.
"Sir," said Goldberg on "The View" Monday, pressing her hands into a prayer pose. She paused, taking a calming breath.

"This was one of our presidents," continued Goldberg. "He didn't intend to die and mess up your day. That was not a choice. This is what happened. So you have to just understand that this is — this is how life works. It ain't always about you, sir. It ain't always about you. He was an extraordinary man."
Goldberg went on to discuss public service that went beyond Carter's presidency and pointed to others willing to serve, like her co-host Sunny Hostin, who served as a federal prosecutor, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, who worked for the Pentagon before working in the White House.
"You served in a way that we have not served," said Goldberg. "You went and served your nation. And I thank you for that. 'Cause that is a huge deal. We look to people like you and people like Jimmy Carter to do that. So, let that flag do what it needs to do, and celebrate this man's life."
