Update 8:09 a.m.: I-70 between Manhattan and Topeka has reopened. The road has been treated but expect snow and slippery conditions, according to Kandrive.gov.

US-24 between the Pottawatomie County line and Shawnee County line is open but completely covered in snow. Between Manhattan and near Saint Marys the road has been treated but the road is slippery. Expect plows on the road, KDOT says.

I-470 between I-335 in Topeka and I-70 in Tecumseh has been treated. The road is partially covered in snow, ice or slush, according to Kandrive.gov.

KANSAS (KSNT) - Just after 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Kansas Department of Transportation issued an alert notifying motorists the highways in Northeast Kansas are shut down. As of Monday morning, most highways are still shut down.

In Topeka, the following major highways are still closed as of Monday.

I-70
- The road is closed. Look out for drifting snow on the roadway. Expect blowing snow. Expect plowed snow on the roadway.
US-24
- The road is closed. Expect drifting snow, blowing snow. Expect plowed snow on the roadway and reduced visibility.
US-40
- The road is closed. Expect drifting snow, blowing snow. Expect plowed snow on the roadway and reduced visibility.
I470
- The road is closed. Expect drifting snow, blowing snow. Expect plowed snow on the roadway and reduced visibility.
US-75 North
- The road is completely covered in a mix of snow ice and slush. Expect drifting snow, blowing snow. Varying ramp conditions.

In Junction City, Manhattan and Salina all major highways remain closed as of Monday morning.

The City of Topeka said it would be sending small trucks to residential neighborhoods on Sunday evening. All roads in the city are expected to be cleared in two to three days.
