West Ham United have now reportedly made advances to sign one Premier League striker, who Ange Postecoglou is thought to be keen on bringing to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham are thought to be intent on adding firepower to their frontline this month and it emerged earlier this week that they had their sights set on one Premier League starlet.
Brighton’s Evan Ferguson has reportedly been made available on loan, and it is a deal that allegedly interests Spurs, who are big fans of the Irishman.
However, it was explained that Tottenham would only be willing to do a deal if Brighton offered to attach an option or obligation to buy to the loan.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed that the Hammers have also entered the race to sign the Seagulls starlet, who has been blighted with injuries over the last 12 months.
In fact, he claims that Julen Lopetegui’s men have already reached out to Brighton to speak about signing Ferguson on a straight loan deal until the end of the season.
The journalist adds that the South Coast club are yet to make a decision on whether to sanction a loan exit for the centre-forward.
Fabian Hurzeler’s men may not be too keen on selling Ferguson as his potential is clear for all to see and he is still very young.
However, based on the way pragmatic way that Brighton operate, we know that all of their players have a price and that they will sell if a big enough offer comes their way.
Ferguson is not likely to cost anywhere near the £100m that was mooted for him a year ago. Perhaps Spurs may consider testing the waters with a cheeky £50m offer for the youngster this month.
