She also told that she kept the reveal a secret from her own children, Darcey and Billy.
Kate laughed: “The kids don’t know. Although they did catch me singing, and I said I’m doing something for charity and they said ‘I hope you raise a lot of money!'”
Judge Davina McCall exclaimed that she had seen Kate earlier that week and she didn’t give anything away.
Kate added of the experience: “Just to have an incredible chance to come out dressed as spaghetti and waddle around trying to sing. It’s been so much fun and everybody’s been great.”
Spag Bol lost the vote in the opening episode on Saturday, but fans were furious when host Joel Dommett announced they would have to wait until tonight’s episode for the star to whip their head off.
Spag Bol and Teeth found themselves in the bottom two, but the judges chose to keep Teeth for another week, sending Spag Bol packing.
Fans naturally took to X, formerly twitter, to vent their frustrations.
One fan fumed: “Nope. Not having that. What’s the point of making us wait? Kinda kills the whole point of the show. If they do that every episode I tech just need to watch the first few mins of each and not the rest. Suppose it saves time.”
A second ranted: “I’m not happy! #MaskedSingerUK you knew we were going to watch tomorrow anyway. You already drag it out enough ffs even the panel look like they’ve lost the will to live by the end of the show.”
“After a Christmas special that was 40 minutes of adverts to a first episode of a new season with no celeb reveal… complete waste of time – not gonna bother watching the rest of the season,” added a third.
The guesses from the panel ranged from Julia Bradbury and Mary Berry to Judi Murray and Anita Rani.
Sadly, none of the panellists – who were joined by guest judge Vicky McClure tonight – were correct.
