Airline seating is notoriously uncomfortable for travelers of all sizes, but for those over six feet tall, it can be a veritable nightmare. But one particularly tall airline passenger offered a life hack that could be a game changer to those who struggle with manspreading.
"POV: You're 6'4" so you have to use the bungee cord hack on planes," actor, singer, and dancer Josh Jordan recently shared to TikTok. In the short clip, he pans the camera from across the cabin to his lap, showing bungee cords tied around his thighs, allowing him to spread his legs comfortably while not encroaching into his seatmate's territory.
"Just doing my community service," he added in a caption.

In the comments, some users expressed their confusion with the life hack. "Why would you need a bungee cord to prevent manspreading?" asked one user. "Couldn’t you just not do it? Or what is the 'hack' I’m missing?" Another jumped into clarify: "Our knees just separate naturally easily. it's a fight to keep them in that position."
"I just be holding my legs together the whole time. [Hip abductors] trembling the whole flight," quipped another user. "Iykyk," wrote another, adding that they have tied a jacket around their legs for the same reason. "[Six-foot-six] and I think this is a great idea, I just usually point my toes inward to try reduce my thighs natural manspread tendencies," chimed in yet another tall person.
A few tall travelers remarked that the problem is that their knees tend to hit the seat in front of them, however Jordan clarified that he "always gets the exit row."
But for the most part, the thoughtfulness was applauded by his fellow travelers. "That is very considerate and much appreciated," wrote one user, while another thanked him for his service, adding a saluting face emoji.
In other words, not all heroes wear capes—some simply wear bungee cords.
