A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a fellow audience member at a metal concert ‘multiple times.’
A 36-year-old man named John Guerrero has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an incident on December 27 at Paper Tiger in San Antonio, Texas.
The show attended by the men was headlined by metalcore act Life Cycles and featured sets by Fear of Loss, Voracious Contempt, Crossways 3000, and Public Threat.
Investigators allege Guerrero and a 21-year-old man got into an altercation inside the venue.
Police were called to the venue, arriving shortly after 10pm to find the younger man outside Paper Tiger with multiple stab wounds.
News station KSAT reported that San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) did not confirm how many times the victim had been stabbed.
Guerrero remained at the venue after the altercation and was apprehended by police after being identified by witnesses.
It was reported by KSAT that he was found in possession of a knife.
The victim was rushed to hospital, where he is now in a stable condition and expected to recover from his injuries.
Guerrero was charged on December 28 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
KSAT reports county jail records show he was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center around 11.45 am on December 28.
He was later released on a $100,000 (£80,667) bond, and his court hearing is scheduled for March 3.
The San Antonio nightclub was recently in the news for hosting a surprise set by Jack White in November 2024.
The White Stripes artist announced the show only a day before it was set to take place, with tickets selling out in minutes.
The show was part of a string of pop-up gigs by the artist to promote his No Name EP, which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album.
