Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s friendship seems stronger than ever after his split from Jennifer Lopez in 2024. The exes have shown a united front when it comes to their three children, Violet, 19, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, but it’s also creating whispers of a reconciliation. Would Garner and Affleck ever get back together?
“Ben is laying it on thick, he’s giving Jen so much of himself and his attention and being so charming,” an insider claimed to In Touch Weekly. “It’s very hard not to love him when he’s acting this way, and a lot of people are predicting that they could end up back together.” That sounds like a big stretch for Garner, though. She has been with John Miller on and off since 2018 and she went through quite a few very public challenges with Affleck— from his sobriety journey to his alleged affair with their children’s nanny.
Miller is reportedly tired of Affleck’s presence, per Life & Style, even though he’s encouraging of their amicable co-parenting relationship. “Ben’s constant presence is very hard to take, John’s like the third wheel in his own relationship,” a source told the media outlet. An Affleck-Garner reconciliation feels far-fetched when her pal confirmed to People in December 2024 that she is “very happy” with Miller and “sees him almost every day.”
Fans also have to remember the 52-year-old actress’ very telling interview with Vanity Fair in 2016. She shared extremely personal insight on what made Affleck charming and dark all at once. “He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous,” Garner explained. “He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
She told the media outlet then that he was the “love of my life” and that she wouldn’t change a thing about the family they created, but Garner seems to understand that Affleck can be his own worst enemy. While the former duo is in “the best place in their relationship,” per In Touch Weekly, it doesn’t sound like a reconciliation is in the cards for them despite the constant internet rumors.
