From Veronica Mars to Nobody Wants This, Kristen Bell‘s been in a fair share of hit shows and movies throughout her career. But, as new sources are now detailing, she might be in for a major career change soon.
In fact, according to Life & Style, she’s thinking of hosting her very own talk show. “Being real here, acting is not exactly Kristen’s first love,” the source said. “She’s good at it, and she had a hit this year with Nobody Wants This, which will continue on Netflix with more episodes, but Kirsten’s gift is connecting with people on a real level, as herself, and getting them to trust her.”
So while acting will still be a part of her life, especially with Nobody Wants This being renewed for season 2, she’s starting to flex those TV host muscles. The first proof of that? She’ll be hosting the 2025 Screen Actors’ Guild Awards on Feb. 23.
“Hosting the SAGs is a giant message to the town, and to her bosses at Netflix, that she can be a better ‘New Oprah‘ or ‘New Ellen’ than Drew Barrymore or Kelly Clarkson,” the source said. “Even before Ellen DeGeneres got ‘canceled,’ Kristen was somebody who was seen and seriously scouted as a potential daytime talk queen, and that ambition hasn’t left her.”
“Thrilled to be hosting the SAG Awards again this year,” Bell told Netflix in the announcement. Bell previously hosted the award show seven years ago in 2018. “I’m honored to be asked back and can’t wait to share the evening with my fellow actors, doing what we do best … celebrating ourselves ????,” she joked.
“She’s sending a very loud and clear message by hosting the SAG awards that she wants to be the next major talk show host that women gravitate around and worship,” the source said of the decision. “When the time is right, Kirsten can dominate daytime ‘mom’ T.V., and she and her team know it.”
“She was born for this kind of assignment,” the source added.
With a whole new career path starting at the SAG Awards, the pressure will surely be on for Bell to deliver. We can’t wait to see in her element!
