ADIL Ray has been slammed by furious Good Morning Britain viewers who suggested he had “fat shamed” darts sensation Luke Littler.
It came after the 17-year-old star thrashed Nathan Aspinall in the Worlds Darts Championship on Wednesday.
Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray has been slammed by viewers who are ‘calling Ofcom’ over his comments[/caption] Adil admitted he was ‘worried’ about the 17-year-old and called out his love of pizza[/caption]Luke beat his rival at London‘s Ally Pally 5-2, and is still a contender for the whopping £500,000 prize money – having already bagged a runner-up loot of £100,000.
Yet despite his huge achievement progressing to the semi-final stage, where he will meet fellow fan-favourite Stephen Bunting, Adil expressed his “worry” over the BBC’s young Sports Personality of the Year champ.
Shortly after the first hour of Good Morning Britain wrapped, Citizen Khan star Adil said: “I have to say and this might not be very popular, I’m a little bit worried about Luke.
“He’s 17 and he’s turning into the look of a darts player.”
He continued on the sporting sensation – who has confessed to a love of kebabs and Swizzels Squashies sweets: “He is though. If I were his mum and dad, I mean, he’s sort of – look at him.
“He’s admitted he has pizzas before a match and sits there playing computer games. I just think I’m a bit worried.”
Kate – a mum-of-two herself – suggested a lot of teenagers loved pizza before saying “fretting” Adil should “pop over with a carrot”, as the pair laughed.
He continued: “Just before the final, ‘I’ve brought a nice little salad for you from Pret’.”
Adil added: “I know but he’s going to get more successful and I just worry.”
Yet after his remarks fans were quick to take to X to air their disgust at his turn of phrase.
One threatened to call the broadcasting watchdog Ofcom, writing: “Really, fat shaming live on morning TV @Ofcom should investigate this shocking behaviour.”
Another put: “Wow @adilray body-shaming Luke Littler on live TV, call to @Ofcom needed @GMB. He’s not even that overweight. I bet Adil hasn’t even seen the inside of a gym.”
A third raged of Adil’s words: “All I know is it was cringe, unnecessary and he should know better. He definitely wouldn’t have made those comments if Luke was female.”
One then tagged the show direct on X and put: “Your host’s fat shaming Luke Littler, a 17-year-old boy is unacceptable and unnecessary. Clearly a bitter & unhappy new year for Adil & Kate.”

Another put: “I can’t believe the body shaming by Adil Ray on this morning’s GMB about Luke Littler.
“This programme will have carried disapproving items on body shaming in the past.
“Leave the young lad alone. Would he have said that about a woman? I think an apology is in order.”
Another surmised: “Please ditch that Adil Ray! I hope he makes a public apology to Luke Littler after making derogatory comments about him.”
SunSport have contacted Luke Littler’s team but they have declined to comment.
Luke will again take to the oche tonight.
Yet he has revealed he does not practice on off-days, instead preferring to play on his Nintendo Switch.
Meanwhile, under-fire Adil was also the centre of attention on Thursday’s GMB as he quizzed Kate on speculation she will star in the upcoming series of The Masked Singer.
