We start the New Year on our travels with a trip to Perth to play St Johnstone – read the full match preview below!
THE LOWDOWN
We begin 2025 on the road as we travel to McDiarmid Park to face St Johnstone, kick-off at 3pm on Thursday 2 January, 2025.
David Gray’s side finished 2024 with a bang, recording four straight wins on the bounce over a busy festive fixture schedule.
That run of results saw us beat Ross County (3-1) and Kilmarnock (1-0) at Easter Road, alongside impressive away wins against Hearts (2-1) and Aberdeen (3-1).
The Hibees have picked up 15 points from the last 18 available, which has propelled us up the table into seventh spot – sitting three points off the top six.
TEAM NEWS
With the short turnaround between fixtures, David Gray and his coaching staff will monitor any knocks, bumps and bruises in the lead-up to the fixture.
Elie Youan missed our victory over Kilmarnock at the weekend and will be assessed ahead of this one.
Unfortunately, this game will come too soon for Marvin Ekpiteta and Kieron Bowie who remain longer-term injuries.
THE HOSTS
St Johnstone currently sit bottom of the William Hill Premiership table, with 14 points from 20 games.
The Saints come into this one off the back of four straight defeats, losing to St Mirren, Hearts, Dundee United and most recently, Celtic.
This will be our second meeting with the Perth side this season, the first was back in September when Mykola Kuharevich and Martin Boyle were on target in a 2-0 victory at Easter Road.
