LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- With the year 2025 upon us, Siena men’s lacrosse head coach Liam Gleason announced the 2025 schedule for his squad. 13 regular season games are on the docket, including six home dates at Hickey Field and an additional two exhibition games on the road.
The Saints have some noted veterans coming back to the squad this season. Among the 40 returning letter winners, Siena will be returning 113-goal scorer Pratt Reynolds, MAAC assists king Ryan McCarthy and starting goalkeeper and Iron Saint Andrew Arcuri.
Siena has reached at least the MAAC Semifinals in three consecutive seasons and were able to defeat the defending MAAC Champions Marist in last season’s quarterfinal.
2025 offers another competitive ledger against high caliber teams with six opponents who finished with a .500 or better record in 2024.
The Saints’ 62nd varsity season of men’s lacrosse will begin anew on February 8 with a first-time meeting hosting Boston University of the Patriot League.
Siena stays home for the second weekend of the season with a home date against Hofstra, renewing the series in back-to-back seasons after playing in Hempstead, NY last season.
Following that, the Green & Gold will open up a heavy road slate with four straight and seven of the next 10 playing away from Loudonville.
Siena will play at 10-game winner LIU on February 22. The Sharks have transitioned from the MAAC to the NEC for its first season in the new conference. The month of March opens with a visit to Hanover, NH to play at Dartmouth of the Ivy League. The Saints will attempt to knock off the Big Green for the first time after narrowly being defeated 12-11 in last season’s matchup.
Siena plays at 13-game winner and last season’s MAAC Champions Sacred Heart to begin conference play on March 15. The Pioneers topped the Saints 15-13 in last year’s MAAC Semifinals. The Pioneers would go on to defeat No. 3 Manhattan 11-5 to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament where it faced UAlbany.
New MAAC member Iona will meet Siena at Hickey Field in a first-time meeting between the schools on March 22. The Saints will get back on the road to face Merrimack on March 26 and then will return to the home confines to host Mount St. Mary’s (Md.) on March 29.
The Saints play in Riverdale to take on Manhattan on April 5 where Siena has enjoyed a 19-10 all-time series advantage including a 11-10 victory in last season’s meeting.
Siena entertains Quinnipiac on April 12. The Saints defeated the Bobcats 13-10 in last year’s matchup and now trail the head-to-head series just 7-8. The final regular season road trip lands the Saints in Western New York to play at Canisius on April 19. The Golden Griffins topped the Saints 13-12 in last year’s installment.
The final regular season game returns to Hickey Field when the Saints host rival Marist on April 23. The teams have played to an even 22-22 tie in the all-time series with the Saints eliminating the Red Foxes 12-9 in last year’s MAAC Quarterfinals.
The MAAC Opening Round is scheduled for April 27 with the Semifinals set for May 2 followed by the MAAC Championship on May 4. Opening Round contests will be hosted by the higher seed, while the highest remaining seed will play host to the Semifinals and MAAC Championship Game.
The Saints are coming off a season in which it went 8-8 overall including 5-4 in conference play. Siena’s postseason run included a 12-9 victory at No. 4 Marist before a defeat versus No. 1 seed and eventual MAAC Champions Sacred Heart (RV) in the MAAC Semifinals in Riverdale, NY.
