WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) -- If your New Year's resolution is to provide a forever home for a pet, you're in luck.
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter announced that adoption fees for the first 100 dog and cat adoptions at the shelter in 2025 will be waived thanks to a partnership with Hill's Pet Nutrition. Fees will be waived up to Jan. 12.
WCRAS will be closed on Wednesday to commemorate New Year's Day and will reopen for normal business hours on Thursday, kicking off the free adoption campaign that day.
Adoption fees at the shelter are typically $75, which cover basic vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, heartworm screening and microchipping, according to the shelter's website.
The shelter's regular hours are daily from noon to 6 p.m. WCRAS is located at 1855 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown.
