RHINEBECK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police reported the arrest of a Rhinebeck man following an investigation into several reported emergencies. Cyril Uebbing, 23, was charged with five counts of second-degree falsely reporting an incident, a class E felony.
On December 28, state police initiated an investigation after being contacted by the chief of the Hillside Fire Department (HFD) about recent incidents that were falsely reported to Dutchess County 911. The investigation yielded that Uebbing, who was reportedly a new HFD member, had allegedly called in multiple emergency incidents that were ultimately determined to be unfounded, including the following:
Uebbing was taken into custody on Monday. He was released with an appearance ticket to Rhinebeck Town Court scheduled for January 8.
