ANTIOCH — A drive-by shooting with what police said was more than 50 rounds of gunfire damaged five parked vehicles and a building Monday.
The gunfire that rang out at about 6:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of St. Francis Drive near Contra Loma Boulevard did not injure anyone, according to a statement from Antioch police Lt. Matthew Koch.
Police did not identify any suspects. Officers responded after receiving many 911 calls reporting the gunfire.
Koch said officers arrived and found approximately 53 expended shell casings in the roadway.
Three of the unoccupied vehicles that were hit with bullets were in the parking lot of a doughnut shop in the 2700 block of Contra Loma Boulevard. The other two were in the 1000 block of St. Francis Drive.
The south side of the doughnut shop’s building also was it by at least one bullet.
