NEW ZEALAND has marked the dawn of 2025 with a spectacular fireworks display.
Auckland ushered in the New Year at 11am UK time as crowds gathered in the capital city to celebrate.
The Pacific island of Kiritimati – also known as Christmas Island – was one of the first places to hit midnight an hour earlier.
The next major city will be Sydney, which has already held an early fireworks display for families.
Photos show crowds gathered outside Sydney Opera House, though it won’t be midnight there until 1pm UK time.
