The controversial dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal on Day 5 of the Boxing Day Test against Australia is still something that is talked about, and different people have different opinions on the batter being dismissed. Former England captain Michael Vaughan does not agree with the post-match remarks made by Rohit Sharma and BCCI vice president, Rajeev Shukla, as he said that there is no question about Jaiswal not being out adding that all the discussion about this topic needs to stop.
BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla was not very impressed with the decision by the third umpire and stated that Jaiswal was clearly not out.
“Yashasavi Jaiswal was clearly not out. Third umpire should have taken note of what technology was suggesting. While over ruling field umpire, third umpire should have solid reasons,” he wrote from his official ‘X’ account.
Yashasvi Jaiswal had attempted to play a shot off Pat Cummins on the last day of Boxing Day Test against Australia, but was only able to send the ball to the wicketkeeper. The on-field official. Joel Wilson declared not out, but Australia went with a review anyways. Replays showed that Jaiswal did, in fact, edge the ball.
There was no deviation on snicko, but the third umpire reversed the decision based on the visual evidence. After India lost the match by 184 runs, skipper Rohit Sharma stated that technology id not always correct, but all these 50-50 decisions appear to work against the team.
Seriously .. all this has to stop .. It was OUT .. all decisions yesterday were the correct ones .. Australia were just better this week .. #Fact https://t.co/VGKfRkIB8j

Let’s get this straight once and for all. Jaiswal was clearly out it was a very obvious deflection off the bat/glove. Not sure how umpire missed it in the first place. Snicko missed it maybe as it was a very soft glancing blow but at the end of the day right decision was made.
