A 12-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her father to death after a ‘disagreement’.
Cops responded to a call around 9.30pm on Friday from the girl’s family member reporting that she and her dad were possibly dead inside the apartment where they resided, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.
The caller added that the girl said she saw blood by her dad’s body and that she thought someone may have broken into the residence.
Officers arriving at the 3400 block of Mercury Street discovered a 55-year-old man dead who was identified as the girl’s father.
The dad had called cops earlier on Friday to report that his daughter had run away. Officers found and returned her home.
At the crime scene, the girl gave different stories about what happened leading up to her dad’s death. She then admitted to having a ‘disagreement’ with him over a disciplinary action in the evening before he died.
The girl, whose identity has not been revealed, was arrested on suspicion of murder with a deadly weapon.
She is the only suspect in the case and has been booked into Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
Her father was not immediately identified.
