The Jamnagar refinery was inaugurated on December 28, 1999, and has since transformed into a global powerhouse in petroleum refining. Located on a 5,000-acre expanse in Gujarat, the facility was built at an initial investment of $3.5 billion.
Today, it produces 1.4 million barrels per day and processes 247 grades of crude feedstock from around the globe. The refinery played a pivotal role in reducing India’s dependency on refined petroleum imports while boosting the nation’s exports of refined petroleum products.
Reliance Industries has committed to achieving Net Zero emissions for the Jamnagar refinery by 2035. This goal aligns with the company’s broader sustainability agenda as it continues to innovate in the energy sector.
