Hugh Jackman Is Reportedly Stepping up This Aspect of His Life for Sutton Foster
Hugh Jackman wants to go into the new year in his best physical shape. While a fitness routine is always a good idea, his rumored romance with Sutton Foster might have something to do with it.
“Hugh was already in better shape than most men half his age but he’s very critical of himself, so in his mind, he really needed to drop some weight and get cut to look his best for Sutton,” a Closer Weekly source claimed. “She’s a little younger than him and he has her on a huge pedestal, so he does feel this pressure to impress her.”
The 56-year-old actor’s relationship with the 49-year-old Broadway star reportedly began while the duo was starring in the revival of The Music Man from December 2021 to January 2023. They were both married to other people though — Jackman to Deborra-Lee Furness for 27 years, and Foster to Ted Griffin for 10 years. Now that both of them have split from their longtime spouses, they are reportedly pursuing a very private romance.
Their relationship was described as “joyful” and lighthearted” by an Us Weekly source in November, but there are still consequences from the fallout. “Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced,” a pal of Foster told the media outlet. “A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap.”
That’s why Jackman and Foster have remained low-key so far — there are no red carpets planned together in the near future. Still, The Greatest Showman star seems to be inspired by Foster’s love. Not only is the relationship a “motivator for him” in the gym, but the Younger actress is reportedly “impressed by his eight-pack,” per Closer Weekly.
The duo was not together for the holidays because Foster is currently starring in Once Upon A Mattress in Los Angeles until Jan 5 while Jackman headed home to Australia for Christmas. It’s hard to predict how this romance will play out publicly, but privately, Jackman and Foster are reportedly “head over heels” in love.
