Thank you, Manny!

The 31-year-old midfielder has decided to call time on his playing career, after spending over 20 years in the game.

Manny started his Youth career with at Chelsea, before moving on to QPR, FootballCV Academy and Brentford.

Well-known across the EFL, he enjoyed numerous loan spells at the likes of Northampton Town, Aldershot Town and Woking, ahead of permanent stints with Exeter City, Port Vale, Chesterfield and the aforementioned Shots and Cardinals.

A much admired summer signing from Woking, Oyeleke went on to make 17 Boro appearances in all competitions across the first half of the 2024/25 season.

A popular member of the team who will be greatly missed. We thank Manny for his time with us and wish him all the very best for the future.

In a Statement released earlier today, Oyeleke said:

“It’s time for me to say goodbye to the game I love.

“Football has been a huge part of my life-3/4 of it, to be exact. But how do you sum up what this game has meant to you? Well, I’m going to try…

“From childhood, I dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. Against the odds, through setback after setback, I became one of the lucky few to live that dream.

“I can honestly say I’ve given everything to this game, and now it’s time to step back and start a new chapter in my life.”

“To every teammate, manager, coach, staff member, and fan I’ve met along the way-thank you for being part of my journey and helping me become the best version of myself.

“To my mum, who’s been there from day one, driving me up and down the country in every weather condition-l couldn’t have done this without you. And to my wife, thank you for your unwavering support through all the highs and lows of this career.

“Lastly, thank you, God, for blessing me with the talent, dedication, and fortune to have had a career in football.

“To all the young pros out there – they weren’t lying when they said a football career goes by quickly. Enjoy every second of it.”

Farnborough Manager Spencer Day added:

“Just, what a guy. We’ve not had Manny here long; it’s only been a good few months, but what a career. A young man still.

“We wish him and his family all the very, very best. I’m sure he will have a fantastic next career with whatever he’s choosing to do next. I think he’s doing some Coaching as well, which we’re still talking to him about.

“Just a fantastic man and career he’s had. We thank him for his brief time with us and wish him all the best for the future.”
