PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The annual Studio Ghibli Film Festival is returning to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry from Jan. 10 to Feb. 9.
The museum's celebration of the popular Japanese animation studio will feature 20 different Studio Ghibli films, including classics like “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and “Spirited Away.” The films will be shown at OMSI’s Empirical Theater.
“Join OMSI for our annual Studio Ghibli Film Festival on the largest movie screen in Portland!” OMSI announced.
Opening night begins with two screenings of Howl’s Moving Castle. Each opening night ticket includes door prizes, snacks, a drink and one voucher for museum admission. The museum will also offer two special “reel eats” events during screenings of “My Neighbor Totoro” on Jan. 22 and 23.
“For an extra special treat, join us for Reel Eats: “My Neighbor Totoro!” the OMSI website reads. “Drool over the delectable dishes in Ghibli films? Now’s your chance to snack along with Mei as she navigates a world filled with mystical creatures and enticing bites.”
