One defender, who Tottenham reportedly showed an interest in back in the summer, is now reportedly available for a cut-price fee.
Tottenham have had to deal with a spate of injuries in their backline and Ange Postecoglou has repeatedly admitted that the club are in desperate need of reinforcements in January.
It is unclear at the moment who Spurs‘ top targets are but it has now emerged that the club could be handed a chance to sign one of their summer targets in a cut-price deal.
The player in question is Michael Kayode, who has struggled for game time at Fiorentina this season, having made just five league appearances so far.
FirenzeViola now claim that Tottenham, along with Newcastle and Aston Villa, had offers for the right-back turned down by the Viola back in the summer while Arsenal also explored a move for the player.
The Serie A side reportedly demanded €30m (£24.9m) for Kayode back then, which put off the interested clubs.
However, the defender’s asking price has reportedly now been slashed to just €15m (£12.4m) in light of his struggles for minutes this season, with the 20-year-old said to be keen on leaving.
The publication adds that there is still interest from England in Kayode while a few Serie A clubs are also circling for him.
One can understand why Tottenham would have explored a move for Kayode in the summer, given that they were parting ways with Emerson Royal.
However, in Pedro Porro, Djed Spence and Archie Gray, Ange Postecoglou has three decent right-back options at his disposal at the moment.
Spurs are much more likely to strengthen at centre-back and left-back in the upcoming transfer window.
