The Chargers seemed to run into an awkward situation a day before their matchup against the New England Patriots.
Los Angeles’ X account Friday posted a picture of a broken-down elevator due to maintenance at the team hotel.
“Here we go again. #NoElevators,” the Chargers posted on social media.
You might be wondering what the hashtag is a reference to. Well, before a preseason matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, at least a dozen Chargers players were stuck in an elevator. Justin Herbert played his role as leader and kept everyone calm. He also posted the hashtag “no elevators” on social media, which prompted a rallying cry from fans and the team against elevators.
It’s all in good fun, but stories of opposing fans sabotaging another team’s hotel aren’t uncommon. It’s unknown where Jim Harbaugh’s side is staying. Providence, R.I. typically is where opposing teams stay since that’s an easier location to make the trek to Foxboro, Mass.
We’d never suggest anything nefarious from the fine folks of Rhode Island, but if there was an attempt to cause an elevator malfunction, it doesn’t seem like Los Angeles will be fazed this Saturday.
