Soca artistes are already tuning up for Carnival 2025.
Among them is Barbadian Rupee who is making sure his voice and pen are heard around the world.
That’s why he added his signature style to the highly anticipated Pineapple Riddim.
The riddim is produced by Dwayne “DJ” Bravo’s 47 Productions in collaboration with Machel Montano’s Monk Music.
The vibrant groovy soca riddim has already hit the airwaves and it is expected to dominate Carnival celebrations across the Caribbean next year.
During the launch party recently at the Queen’s Park Cricket Club in Trinidad, Rupee said he was pleased to be singing and writing on the project.
When they brought the riddim to me, it was a no-brainer,” Rupee said.
He added: “Being part of this riddim alongside such talented artistes is a proud moment for me. It’s all about spreading love and culture through music, and this project captures the spirit of Carnival perfectly.”
Rupee’s track is My Kinda Gyal.
The riddim, also features tracks such as Patrice Roberts’ Tun Up, Lyrikal’s Carnival Meeting and 47Ronzy’s Come Here and Machel Montano’s Wah We Doin.
Montano, who leads the riddim with his track, praised the collaboration.
“This project is a testament to greatness. Great songs, a catchy beat and a stellar lineup. Bravo shares Monk Music’s philosophy of empowering young talent and building the industry and I see this as the beginning of a great partnership for entertainment and beyond. Wah We Doin is definitely one of my favourites of my 2025 Carnival contributions,” Montano said.
Bravo also said he was proud of the project.
“To have an international hitmaker like Rupee on this project is truly an honour. His talent and global appeal embody the energy and culture of Caribbean music and My Kinda Gyal is a track that will have everyone vibing, from Barbados to Trinidad and beyond!”
