Wicked director Jon M. Chu opened up about Dorothy’s presence in the 2025 sequel Wicked: For Good.
While the musical movie’s story obviously centers on Cynthia Erivo‘s Elphaba and Ariana Grande‘s Glinda, the Wizard of Oz character Dorothy made a brief cameo in this year’s movie.
In a new interview, Jon offered a hint at what sort of role she could play when the sequel premieres in theaters.

“Well, we definitely did cast Dorothy. You see her in some of our teasers,” Jon told CinemaBlend. “How much of do you see of Dorothy? I’m going to leave people— I can’t I can’t confirm or deny how much you see of her.”
He continued, saying, “I will say that I do think it’s important for, whoever Dorothy is to you, to try to respect that as much as possible. But does The Wizard of Oz and our movie intersect in movie two more than ever? 100%.”
