Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez haven’t finalized their divorce yet, but it seems like they are finding a rhythm to their post-split relationship. They were spotted at the private club, Soho House, in West Hollywood on Sunday, Dec. 22, enjoying a pre-holiday lunch together, but they also did something else very sweet for each other.
The Daily Mail had reported that the former duo exchanged Christmas gifts, but fans didn’t have the details on what type of presents they gave each other. Now, a Page Six insider is spilling the tea on Affleck’s thoughtful gift to his ex. He reportedly bought “a few books” from Mystery Pier Books owner Louis Jason in West Hollywood. His haul for Lopez included “an autographed Marlon Brando book” which might sound random, but it had meaning to her.
“Ben gifted Jennifer with the book because she’s a fan, plus her Super Bowl bodysuit was inspired by Marlon Brando,” an insider shared. Her outfit at the 2020 halftime show was styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn. They shared with Billboard that they drew aesthetic moments from a 1991 Vogue shoot dedicated to the legendary actor.
The gifts that they exchanged were “small” and the rest of the items “were mostly for each other’s kids.” The source added, “It was nothing over the top, but more so a gesture to celebrate the holidays. Ben and Jennifer have remained amicable despite the ongoing divorce proceedings.” Page Six reported on Dec. 17 that the 55-year-old superstar and the 52-year-old actor remained “connected” despite their pending divorce status.
Outside of their blended family, the former couple will stay linked through the continued promotion of her sports film, Unstoppable, which lands on Prime Video on Jan. 16, 2025. She’s also starring in the 2025 film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, which premieres at the Sundance Film Festival in late January. Affleck and Matt Damon are producers on both projects through their production company, Artists Equity. Damon will likely be the public-facing supporter of both films on the red carpet, but it seems that Affleck will continue to cheer on Lopez from the sidelines.
