Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign a Juventus star, but Ange Postecoglou has refused to give the club the go-ahead to complete the deal.
Tottenham have signed Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus over the last few years, and over recent weeks, it has been suggested that yet another player could move from Turin to North London.
The player in question is Nicolo Fagioli, who has struggled for game time since Thiago Motta arrived at the Allianz Stadium in the summer and has been heavily linked with a January move to Spurs.
In fact, it was reported last week that despite attracting interest from the likes of Fulham, West Ham and Crystal Palace, the 23-year-old is keener on making a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It has now been claimed by GiveMeSport that Spurs have offered Postecoglou the chance to sign the Juventus star, but the Australian has refused to give the green light for a move.
The report asserts that the Italy international is keen on finding an exit route from the Serie A giants and would be ready to make a switch to N17.
However, even though Tottenham are in the market for a central midfielder of Fagioli‘s type, Postecoglou and other influential figures at Spurs have not given the go-ahead to wrap up the deal.
It is explained that Spurs are refusing to rush into a decision and are continuing to mull over their options.
Fabio Paratici has worked with Fagioli at Juventus, and it has been reported that the former Tottenham managing director is a big fan of the midfielder.
Several sources have continued to suggest that Paratici still has an influential role at Tottenham, with Daniel Levy trusting the Italian’s judgement.
All signs thus point to the fact that it is the 52-year-old who has put forward Fagioli’s name to the Tottenham recruitment department.
