One key Tottenham Hotspur man has emerged as a target for Inter Milan as Spurs circle over two Internazionale targets of their own.
At times, Guglielmo Vicario has come under a lot of criticism for his handling of set-pieces, which some would feel has been a little unfair.
However, the Italian’s value to this Spurs side has become clear during his injury absence, with the 28-year-old not just being an excellent shot-stopper but also being crucial to the way Ange Postecoglou‘s men play out from the back.
The Italian media have now raised the shocking possibility that the Tottenham number one could return to his home country at the end of the season.
This update comes from InterLive, who are reporting that the Nerazzurri have been impressed by the Italy international’s performances and could look to set up a deal for next summer.
It is pointed out that their interest in Vicario comes in the context of Tottenham wanting two of their players: Yann Bisseck and Davide Frattesi.
The report suggests that the Premier League side would be prepared to offer £35m for the midfielder and about £28m for the German defender.
These deals could interest Inter a lot, with a ‘really hot’ axis emerging between the two clubs. It is suggested that Simone Inzaghi’s men could use Spurs’ interest in their duo to explore a move for the goalkeeper.
There is simply no chance that Spurs would be receptive to any offers for Vicario at the end of the season.
The Tottenham number one was added to the club’s leadership group by Postecoglou recently, which is a sign of how highly he is valued by the club.
