Donald Trump’s infamous Diet Coke button is making an Oval Office return – a clear sign that the incoming president did not make kicking his obsessive love for the refreshment a New Year’s resolution.
Every president makes their mark on the Oval Office – from changes in furniture to the curtain drapes – but when Trump entered the White House four years ago, he installed a red button on the Resolute desk to request cold sodas on-demand.
The button was swiftly vetoed by Biden, who removed it upon taking office. But that will change after Trump’s inauguration next month with White House staff receiving instructions to re-install the red button, according to a report in DailyMail.com.
The button Trump used to call for soda is visible in Oval Office pictures throughout his presidency and sat by his desk's phone. He reportedly drank the beverage constantly and could press the button at his whim.

“Walt Nauta, his personal valet who left the White House with him, was in charge of answering the call. Nauta would bring Trump a glass of Diet Coke on a silver tray,” DailyMail.com reported.
Trump even cracked jokes about the red button, "saying people thought it was to activate nuclear weapons," the publication added.
"Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button," Trump said, according to the report.
White House staff will have just five hours on the day Trump sweeps into office to move the family in, DailyMail.com said. “It’s a well-coordinated process that comes after months of planning,” the report added.
But it is expected to be a smooth transition, Kate Andersen Brower, author of The Residence, told DailyMail.com.
“It’s easier because they’ve lived there before,” she said in the report.
