MOHAWK, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- On December 19, a Gloversville man was arrested for an alleged rape. Hernan Julia, 44, faces multiple charges.
Around 6:15 p.m., state police responded to the area of State Route 5 for reports of a hit-and-run crash into a guide rail. According to state police, they found the car involved with damage, parked in a nearby pull-off area.
Upon approaching the car, troopers reportedly saw Julia engaging in sexual activity with a teenage juvenile under the age of 16 inside the car. He was charged with rape in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Julia was arraigned at the Mohawk Town Court. He was later remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond or a $30,000 partially secured bond.
