An upper-level feature will drive a surface front close to the area through the next several days, leading to higher rain chances.
Storms will be positioned across eastern Texas early in the day tomorrow. This activity will begin to move towards Acadiana late tomorrow night and into Friday. The Storm Prediction Center has us hatched in for a level two out of five risk of severe storms with strong winds and tornadoes possible.
The front will stall near the area on Friday, keeping storm chances in the forecast. A low-end threat of severe storms will continue into the day on Friday.
The main trough will finally move through on Saturday, giving us a high storm chance and the chance for some heavier rainfall. The front will move through on Sunday, clearing us out for the early parts of next week.
Another front could bring chilly air back heading into the first few days of next year!
