COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- As so many prepare to gather with friends and family leaders with LifeCare Alliance are asking that you consider volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels.
For decades, Meals on Wheels has not only served as a program that helped to feed homebound seniors, it has also served as a moment of human interaction. LifeCare Alliance CEO Chuck Gehring says in the days between Christmas and New Year's there’s a significant need for volunteers. The organization is asking for licensed volunteers, 18 years and older to help.
"Many of them are lonely," Gehring said. "You may be the only person they’re going see over the holiday time."
Gehring said they are seeing volume higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic and the need is great.
