ALBANY, NY (NEWS10.COM) - AAA expects almost eight-million travelers to fly to their destination this holiday season. Albany International Airport has been busy for the past several days with thousands of travelers passing through. Last minute travelers reunited with their loved ones for Christmas at baggage claim. Tom and Ann Drucker were dressed for the occassion in their holiday festive gear to greet their son and daughter-in-law.
"We are picking up our son who is coming up from D.C. with his wife," Drucker said.
News10 cameras also spotted Rachel Perozzi dashing through the airport, with one big present in hand as she got ready to board a flight to Tennessee to meet up with her family. We asked her about her package and she explained, "Okay so its meat, from my farm that I'm taking so I can have good food to eat. So we have grass fed beef, pasteurized poultry. I'm gonna make tacos for everyone tomorrow."
Perozzi made sure to pack the Christmas treat with care. "It's insulated really well and put dry ice in it to keep it cold," she said.
Also, among the crowd of travelers, were parents like Kevin Owens, relieved to be back on the ground, after experiencing the joy that is traveling with kids in tow, for the holidays.
"It was chaotic but it was fun we got through it," he said.
Returning home from the happiest place on earth, Albany still has Orlando, Florida beat with one thing. "I miss the snow," Owens shared.
