DALLAS (News Release) -- Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST) and NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (KXAS) announced the details for “Lone Star NYE 2025,” a New Year’s Eve program airing Dec. 31, from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. CST. The program will air on NBC 5 in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market, and on 23 Nexstar television stations across six states. The program will be hosted by Katy Blakey of NBC 5 and D.J. Williams of KARK-TV in Little Rock, Ark., live from the lawn just south of Reunion Tower in Dallas. The special will feature special musical guests, The Jacksons, along with the traditional Dallas Lone Star NYE at Reunion Tower with fireworks, and light and drone spectaculars.
“Lone Star NYE 2025” will include the Lone Star NYE at Reunion Tower live fireworks spectacular, sponsored by your local North Texas Hyundai dealer, and presented by Hunt Realty Investments and Reunion Tower, with NBC 5 and Nexstar serving as official media sponsors. This year, spectators will experience a 500-drone light show as part of the annual presentation of panoramic fireworks and tower light show, including more than 5,000 special pyrotechnic effects fired from Reunion Tower and the 259 LED light display. The drone light show, engineered and flown by DFW-based Sky Elements, will light up the sky at heights of up to 700 feet and create an array of visual elements and an immersive experience never seen before above the Dallas skyline.
The Jacksons, one of the most iconic bands in music history, will headline this year’s celebration, honoring over 50 years of timeless sound and influence. Known as "The First Family of Music," the brothers from Gary, Indiana, originally The Jackson 5, made history with their first four singles, including "I Want You Back" and "ABC," all reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. With hits like "Never Can Say Goodbye" and "Dancing Machine," their Motown recordings alone have sold over 200 million. Today, the band features lead vocalist Jackie Jackson, supporting vocalist and percussionist Marlon Jackson, and Taryll Jackson, son of the late Tito Jackson.
