TOPEKA (KSNT) - Several local bars will be open in Topeka on Christmas Day showing the Kansas City Chiefs match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Topekans interested in catching the big game at a local bar on Dec. 25, 2024, can head down to Ryan's Pub in southwest Topeka. The bar will be open for its normal hours and plans to show the game to its patrons.
Owners of Ryan's Pub told 27 News staff volunteered to work on the holiday. Patrons are also looking forward to a community meal at the bar on Christmas Day.
"Some of our regulars are looking to do a potluck in here," Sean Ryan, Ryan's Pub co-owner, said. "So, if people want to join, they can bring a dish and join in on the potluck and watch the game. I think that you know, having a local place to go to with friends and family it's good. So nobody has to be alone, alone on the holidays."
People can also head over to the Dugout, Abigail's and the Brass Rail Tavern which will also be showing the Chiefs game on Christmas Day. The Chiefs face off against the Steelers at noon CST on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The game will be shown on Netflix and NFL+, according to the Chief's website.
