On Monday, metal stocks were among the top gainers. It is not the first time metal stocks have witnessed a strong rally in the recent past. In fact, in October, when all sectors and stocks were falling like nine pins, metal stocks were the ones that outperformed. But then all of them suddenly witnessed selling pressure. Reason: The so-called stimulus and hope of recovery in the Chinese economy did not work. This time, the spike in stock price is not caused by hope of any Chinese recovery, but a report that an anti-dumping duty might be imposed on the import of cold-rolled steel products from China. Should one buy metal stocks just because anti-dumping duty is being imposed? Or because of something else?
