ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Mohawk Ambulance Service held a last-minute toy collection event on Monday called "Stuff an Ambulance." The event was the first the company has hosted to support families in need during the holiday season.
Community members were welcomed by the ambulance service to bring new and unwrapped toys to Mohawk's Cental Avenue location, 570 Central Avenue, to fill an entire ambulance. The toys were donated to Toys for Tots.
According to the Ambulance Service, they hoped the event would ensure every child received a gift this holiday. The event also furthered the company's mission to serve the community, Mohawk Ambulance Service said.
"We just always try and create good. When you see us it's not always for the best of reasons, but we do try and bring a lot of joy to people and give back," Alex Gendreau, event coordinator for Mohawk Ambulance said.
If you're still looking for ways to give back this holiday season or searching for gifts yourself, Victory Church, 118 Quail Street, is hosting a toy drive until 5 p.m.
