Jamie O’Hara believes that Tottenham’s poor showing against Liverpool seriously exposed the lack of depth and quality in their squad, while calling on Daniel Levy to change that.
All of Tottenham’s defeats this season have been narrow ones, with the Lilywhites always giving a game to every side they have come up against.
However, that was not the case on Sunday, with Liverpool teaching Ange Postecoglou‘s men a lesson, being devastating in attack and putting six past a hapless Spurs defence.
Postecoglou will argue that his side were missing many of their starters, including their number one and three of their first-choice back four.
O’Hara did not hold back after Tottenham’s embarrassing loss on Sunday, pointing out that the squad is extremely thin and lacking in quality.
The former Spurs midfielder pointed the finger squarely at Daniel Levy, insisting that Postecoglou does not have the tools to compete.
Here is what the talkSPORT pundit tweeted after the 6-3 loss:
Not a lot of teams in the Premier League would be able to contain Liverpool without four of their first-choice back five.
Rodrigo Bentancur was arguably an even bigger miss as he is Tottenham’s best midfielder, with neither Pape Sarr nor Yves Bissouma offering a lot in possession, which is why Spurs struggled to progress the ball up the pitch.
