MS Dhoni to be THROWN out of his Ranchi home, Housing board set to sent eviction notice, know all about the entire matter
Former India captain and Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has landed into fresh trouble in his home town of Ranchi in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand State Housing Board has launched an investigation into allegations that Dhoni is using his residence in Harmu Housing Colony for commercial purposes. Officials have stated that if the claims are substantiated, Dhoni will be served a legal notice.
Dhoni had been allotted five katah of land in the upscale Harmu Housing Colony by the Jharkhand government through a gift deed. Previously a resident of Mecon Colony, he built a luxurious home on the plot but later relocated to a farmhouse in Simaliya on the outskirts of Ranchi to escape public and media attention.
According to Sanjay Lal Paswan, chairman of the housing board, the rules prohibit the use of residential plots for commercial activities. “We have received complaints and instructed officials to investigate. If the allegations are proven, a notice will be issued to Dhoni,” Paswan was quoted as saying by TOI newspaper.

Recent reports have suggested that there were plans to establish a pathology center on the property. A signboard for the center was reportedly installed but later concealed with green cloth, fueling speculation.
The housing board has already issued notices to approximately 300 property owners for similar violations of using residential plots for commercial purposes. Earlier, the board also served notice to the BJP office for a similar breach. Officials have been directed to cancel plot allotments if unauthorized commercial activities are confirmed.
This is second time in the last 9 years that this particular piece of land in Harmu Housing Colony belonging to MS Dhoni has been sent a notice by the state housing board. Back in 2015, Dhoni had been served notice by the Jharkhand State Housing Board asking him about an ‘illegally allotted plot’ adjacent to the original plot allotted to him should not be cancelled.
Dhoni had got the 5,002 square feet plot before getting another 4,780 square feet as ‘cut plot’ adjacent to the original plot given to him. Meanwhile, Dhoni will be turning out in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an ‘uncapped’ player for a salary of Rs 4 crore.
