The 47th annual Kennedy Center Honors took place earlier this month, but the taped event will finally become viewable in full on Sunday. We'll show you how to watch the Kennedy Center Honors, including broadcast and streaming options.
The Kennedy Center Honors took place on December 8, 2024. Hosted by Queen Latifah, a 2023 recipient, this year's event honored Francis Ford Coppola, the Grateful Dead, Bonnie Raitt, and Arturo Sandoval. The Apollo, a New York-based theater, was also honored as an iconic American institution. The Kennedy Center honors are always a star-studded event; this year is no exception. Brandi Carlisle, Dave Chappelle, Sheryl Crow, Robert De Niro, David Letterman, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus all made appearances, in addition to other notable figures. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were also in attendance.
While clips and images from the event have circulated online, this weekend's airing will be the first full official broadcast. Keep reading to learn how to tune in without cable.
The official broadcast of the 47th Kennedy Center Honors will air on CBS on Sunday, December 22. The broadcast is scheduled from 8:30 p.m. ET to 11 p.m.

Traveling away from home and still hoping to tune in? A VPN (virtual private network) can help. VPNs allow people to change their electronic device's virtual location so that they can still access their usual websites and apps just like they would back home. Plus, they're solid ways to boost online security. This option will work best for Americans who are just traveling abroad since the services we've recommended require US payment methods.
If you're not sure where to start when it comes to VPNs, our top pick is ExpressVPN. It's easy to use and has a hassle-free 30-day money-back guarantee. You can read all about it in our ExpressVPN review, and see below to learn how to use a VPN.
Note: Using VPNs is illegal in certain countries, and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content might constitute a breach of the terms of use for certain services. Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
