NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Ground stops or delays have been issued at all three major airports in New York and New Jersey due to weather and travel volume.
Incoming flights to Newark International Airport have been grounded until at least 2:45 p.m. due to snow and ice, according to the FAA.
Meanwhile, incoming flights to John F. Kennedy Airport and LaGuardia Airport have delays ranging from 30 minutes to over an hour.
Flight officials say there's a possibility of those conditions getting worse throughout the day due to snow.
A special weather statement was issued for parts of New York, including the Bronx, Queens, Westchester County, Nassau County, and Suffolk County.
According to PIX11 meteorologists, snow will continue to fall in the tri-state area through Saturday morning. A coating to an inch of snow accumulation is expected.
Snow conditions have also led to early school closings across New York.
