A woman posing as a doctor at a London hospital injected a patient with an unknown substance.
Kreuena Zdrafkova arrived at Ealing Hospital, in west London, wearing a white coat, stethoscope, medical gloves and a yellow badge in April.
The 20-year-old was able to gain access to a patient who was in police custody and was being guarded by two police officers.
Despite having no medical training, she took pictures of his neck and hand, and administered a liquid injection into his mouth which she said would calm him down.
CCTV footage also showed her in an ambulance talking to a paramedic and a member of hospital staff who said they saw her in the blood room examining needles.
Zdrafkova, who is a mum-of-two, was arrested three days later when she came back to the hospital with medical paper.
She told Isleworth Crown Court she was ‘living out her dream of becoming a doctor’, and insisted she had no malicious intent.
Zdrafkova, from Hanwell in west London, pleaded guilty to common assault and was sentenced to a community order with 15 days of rehabilitation.
She is also banned from going to NHS facilities, except to attend her own GP surgery, go to pre-planned or urgent appointments for her or her children, and to visit family in hospital.
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust said: ‘We fully supported the police investigation into this highly unusual incident, taking immediate action to support the apprehension of the individual and enhance our security measures.’
