Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney are heading to theaters with their new project The Housemaid, an adaptation of Freida McFadden’s book of the same name, on Christmas.
Here’s a plot summary: “Millie (Sweeney) is a struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar), an upscale, wealthy couple. She soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.”
The Housemaid also stars the likes of Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone.
Their movie will premiere alongside Timothee Chalamet‘s new project Marty Supreme.
Plot details for this film have been kept under wraps, however, it is believed that Timothee‘s character is loosely based on Marty Reisman, a ping pong great who was known as the “Wizard of Table Tennis.”
Marty Reisman, who died in December 2012 at the age of 82, was a table tennis champion who started his career in Manhattan as a hustler, playing for bets and prize money. He won 22 major ping pong titles from 1946 to 2007 and won five bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships. At 67, Marty competed in the United States National Hardbat Championship and became the oldest player to win an open national competition in a ract sport.
The movie also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, and the duo went viral earlier this year thanks to photos of them filming a steamy kiss scene.
Gwyneth addressed the kiss in a recent interview.
According to reporting by Deadline, there are some other movies set to premiere on Christmas day 2025, including Zachary Levi‘s Sarah’s Oil.
