DEAR DEIDRE: LAST Christmas, I gave my ex a ring, but this year he won’t even return my texts.
I thought we’d be together forever, and I’m heartbroken.
We’re both 19 and met at college, two years ago.
He was my best friend and I told him all my secrets – things nobody else knew – like how I was bullied at school.
He said he adored me, would be there for me, and never judge me.
But two months ago, he suddenly went cold and broke up with me by text.
Since then he won’t respond to my messages. I’m so hurt and confused and can’t get over it.

Unfortunately, sometimes people’s feelings do change, especially when they’re very young.
Breaking up with you by text was cowardly, but at least you know where you stand.
