Bollywood star Anushka Sharma has often been the target of ridicule and the trolls when her husband Virat Kohli isn’t performing on the cricket field. Anushka has to protect her two kids – daughter Vamika and son Akaay – from the paparazzi, in spite of repeated requested from the star couple to keep them away from media glare.
On Thursday, Kohli got into a heated argument with an Australian journalist at the Melbourne airport when he asked them not to film his kids without his permission. Kohli was travelling with Anuskha and their kids from Brisbane to Melbourne ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia which begins on December 26.
Kohli has got unlikely support from star Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad, who has hit back at trolls who target Anushka Sharma. Speaking on Nadir Ali’s podcase which went viral on social media, Ahmed Shehzad slammed trolls who target cricketers’ families.
“Anushka Sharma is a well-respected, reputed woman. Why did she get so much negative things from fans? There was a category of people in India only who did not like seeing Virat Kohli grow. They created a negative propaganda. There are people who even involve families in this thing,” Ahmed Shehzad said on the podcast.
The 33-year-old former Pakistan opener turned out in 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 59 T20 matches for his side. Asked about the contribution of Anushka Sharma in Virat Kohli’s life, Shehzad said, “You ask Virat Kohli himself. I have seen at least 4 to 6 statements from Virat at the grand stage that his wife has helped him become better. He himself says that his life has become so much better ever since she came in his life. If a player himself gives the credit of his success to his spouse, I think he is doing the right thing.”
Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has already revealed recently that the Indian cricketer and his wife Anushka Sharma intend to relocate to London to get away from the public glare that they face everyday in India and for good upbringing of their children.
Meanwhile, Shehzad has maintained good relations with Kohli off the field and has always acknowledged that the former India captain has helped him whenever he needed.
