Aston Villa won this exact fixture 1-0 last season thanks to Leon Bailey but haven’t won consecutive home league meetings with Manchester City since April 1993.
And another omen in Guardiola’s favour is that only against Newcastle have Manchester City won more Premier League games (31) and scored more Premier League goals (102) than they have against Aston Villa (30 wins, 98 goals).

Unai Emery’s faith in striker Jhon Duran looks to have paid off with the Colombian scoring in each of his last three appearances for the Villans.
He’s started the last two Premier League fixtures and in those games has unleashed six efforts on goal with three of those on target – more than any of his colleagues. He’s averaging a chance every 21.7 minutes and has an xG of 0.73 which, again, is more than any of his teammates.
