NEW YORK (PIX11) – A mix of rain and snow could create slick conditions during the evening commute in New York City on Friday.
The New York City Emergency Management Department issued a weather alert for Friday through Saturday morning.
A mix of light rain and snow is in the forecast for the evening commute in New York City on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Although ice isn’t expected during that time, the rain/snow mix could create slick conditions on untreated surfaces, authorities said.
Light snow may continue through Saturday morning. About half an inch of snow accumulation is possible around New York City, with a 10% chance of 2 inches of snowfall, authorities said.
Temperatures will drop below freezing early Saturday morning, which could create slick and icy conditions on untreated surfaces.
