ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Stewart's Shops announced on Wednesday that the company's acquisition of the Jolley Associates convenience store chain was completed on December 16. The purchase, which was first announced back in September, included Jolley's affiliates, which are S.B. Collins, a gasoline and diesel provider, and Clarence Brown, a heating oil business.
The deal adds 45 stores to Stewart's chain, with 38 in Vermont, two in New Hampshire, and five throughout New York between Queensbury, Lake George, Clifton Park, and Plattsburgh. The final terms of the transaction have not been publicly disclosed.
"This acquisition brings together longtime family businesses that care deeply about the communities in which we operate," said Chad Kiesow, Chief Operating Officer of Stewart's Shops. "This opportunity not only allows us to enter new markets, it allows us to complement Jolley’s brand by introducing products that Stewart’s is very proud of."
All Jolley locations will gradually be rebranded as Stewart's Shops stores over the coming months. Over 450 Jolley employees will be incorporated into Stewart's workforce, bringing Stewart's to over 5,500 workers across what will now be 406 total stores.
